May is upon us. Summer is right around the corner, and with the warmer weather comes a lot of fire kicks. There’s a whole lot of heat dropping this month, so we narrowed it down to a few of our favorites, and we were even nice enough to list their price and release date so you (and your bank account) can be prepared when they drop. Let’s get to it.

Nike Air Presto Ultra Flyknit-May 5th, $160

The first shoe we’re really excited for this month is definitely the Air Presto Ultra Flyknit. We weren’t sure how the classic silhouette would look with a Flyknit makeover at first…but it works great. They’ll be a home run with tapered, cuffed pants or Tech Fleece. A W for Nike Sportswear.

Pharrell x Adidas Elastic Lace Up “Pink Beach”-May 5th, $120

Pharrell-Williams-x-adidas-4

Pharrell Williams can do no wrong, and his latest Adidas collaboration will be perfect for summertime wear. Clearly inspired by the classic Stan Smith (one of our favorite shoes), the Elastic Lace Up is extremely minimal and stripped-down, while the green heel adds just enough flavor. Plus, these can be worn with or without socks. What’s not to like? The 5th might be tough on our wallets between these and the Flyknit Prestos.

Jordan IX Low “Bright Mango”-May 7th, $170

You’ve simply got to have a pair of bright kicks on deck for the summer, and the “Bright Mango” IX Lows fit the bill perfectly. They avoid falling into the played-out all red sneaker category, as they’re more of a slightly fluorescent reddish-orange color, and the black tongue, laces, and lace loops contrast wonderfuly with the smooth monochrome upper.

Nike Flyknit Racer “Multicolor”-May 13th, $150

Nike-Flyknit-Racer-1

One of the shoes responsible for starting the runner craze, the “Multicolor” Flyknit Racer makes a triumphant return this year. It’s got a grey tongue instead of a black tongue, but still has all the steez of the original 2013 pair. These should be a double-up for anybody who loves rocking runners.

Air Jordan 2 Low “Chicago”-May 21st, $140

Air-Jordan-2-Low-7

The Jordan II Low is a criminally underrated model, and a great lifestyle shoe. The classic “Chicago” colorway is timeless as ever, and if you cop these you can stunt like it’s the 80’s all over again. Just make sure you’ve got some vintage Ralph or Tommy to complete your fit.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1-May 24th, $150

Any Griffey shoe is a home run in our book (terrible pun totally intended), and this Sprite-like pair is one of our favorite colorways of the Max 1’s. These last released in 2009. It’s been a long seven years. We need a fresh pair. May 24th needs to hurry up and get here.

Jordan XII “Flu Game”-May 28th, $190

We can honestly say that the Flu Games are our most anticipated shoe of the month. Arguably the best XII ever, the simple, clean design, the history and story behind the shoe, and of course the fire tumbled leather on the upper come together to make an absolute banger that sneaker heads and Jordan lovers all over the world will be fiending for.

Jordan XVII “Bulls”-May 29th, $250

A lot of Jordan lovers like to hem and haw about how they only rock with the I’s through the XIV’s, but they’re cheating themselves out of the joy of a dope pair like these. The XVII’s are a great example of dope early 00’s sneaker design…and as you know, you can never really go wrong with a black and red pair of Jordans.
