It’s a pretty diverse release weekend we have upon us here. From the triple-black Foamposite to the new Flyknit Roshes, there’s something for almost everyone dropping this weekend. Here’s my thoughts on my top 5 kicks (in order) that released yesterday or are releasing this weekend.
Honorable Mention: Nike Air Foamposite 1 “Black Suede
All-black kicks are always a solid move in the fall and winter months, and these triple-black foams are hard to go wrong with. Although they aren’t quite as dope as the “Stealth” foams, these should still find a place in the collection of many foam-heads.
I’ll be honest. This isn’t a sneaker piece so much as it is a personal piece. If you came here hoping today’s post might be a sneaker post, you might be just a little bit disappointed. However, it is a post that I felt needed to be written, and where better to do it than here on KicksOneTwo?
Last week, I was offered a big promotion at work. I’d be making a ton more money and have a ton more responsibility. Sounds great, right? But there was a catch. I’d have to move to Mason City, Iowa. Not exactly a thriving metropolis for the culture this website is based on (although there is some nice Frank Lloyd Wright-designed houses out there). And KicksFourOne doesn’t have quite the same ring to it either if I may be honest.
Is this deja vu? Kind of. A while back, Ross copped the grey Puma x Anwar Carrots collab from our friends at Studiiyo23, and he liked them so much he had to pick up the black pair as well. Check out the pics below!
Sneakers and fashion go hand-in hand. You can’t have a dope outfit without a fresh pair of kicks on feet. Most of us sneakerheads dress from the toes up, and there’s nothing at all wrong with that.
However, some people in the sneaker game are guilty of not caring about fashion as much as they should. I’m not here to say that if you’re into sneakers, you also have to be a fashionista who’s up to date on the latest Hood By Air collection, or know the difference between Naked and Famous and APC’s different cuts of denim.
For today’s edition of Music Monday, we bring you some chill West Coast music. Here’s a Casey Veggies track, “Everything Wavy.”
Here at KicksOneTwo, we’re all about doing whatever we can to move our culture forwards. We’re thrilled when opportunities present themselves for those in our community, and that’s why we’re happy to see that the good folks over at Scotty Piff are opening their own retail location on September 1st.
The grand opening of the store will be from 12pm-8pm, and the first 100 customers through the door will get laced with a free t-shirt.With lots of consignment kicks and clothing, there’s sure to be something for everyone over at the shop.
For today’s Kick Pic, we bring you a shot of the homie Bill rocking the Jordan Future Premium “Metallic Silver”.
I usually wouldn’t write an article that sings the praises of anything this highly, but the topic of this specific article isn’t just anything.
Today marks a special day in Minneapolis sneaker culture. 4 years ago, the best sneaker boutique in the state, Studiiyo23 opened its doors. With 3 solid founding principals the business was based on (passion, creativity, and love for the game) “the Studiiyo” (as some loyal customers affectionately call it) quickly became more than a store: It became a place where people who love everything from sneakers to art to hip-hop could meet like-minded people in a welcoming enviroment. Nowadays it’s not just a store. It’s a cultural hub.
