It’s March Madness time. Sure, the college hoops world is great, but so is this weekend’s release calendar. There’s all kinds of fire from what seems like every brand dropping, and it was about time for another edition of our infamous “Top 5 Sneaker Releases This Weekend” segment. Let’s get right into it.

Note: If the NMD Runners hadn’t released yesterday, they would have been #1 on the list. CRAZY shoe, but Thursday doesn’t count as the weekend (obviously), so they weren’t eligible.

5. Bait x New Balance 971 Select “Excalibur”-Saturday, $120

Tennis shoes have been enjoying a bona fide renaissance recently (just look at the success of the Stan Smith), and Bait has come together with New Balance to revive the 971 in three beautiful colorways. The white/gold and black/silver pair are dope too, but neither of them hold a candle to these dope gunmetal jawnz, constructed with a premium suede upper and leather tongue.

4. Jordan IV “Dunk From Above”-Saturday, $190

You can really never go wrong with a clean pair of Jordan IV’s, and the “Dunk From Above” coloway takes the #4 spot on this weekend’s list. Royal blue with just enough white and yellow accents sitting on top of a gum sole? Sign us up.

3. Nike Air Penny II “Miami Heat”-Friday (today), $150

You could argue that nobody in the 90’s had a higher batting average than Nike Basketball when it came to putting out fire signature shoes for multiple athletes. They released banger after banger, and could seemingly do no wrong, from Scottie Pippen to Penny. The Penny II “Miami Heat” brings that into the 10’s with a black/red upper with just enough yellow, just like the Heat’s uniforms. Keep the legacy alive.

2. Jordan I Low “White-Metallic Blue”-Saturday, $130

A clean pair of Jordan I lows, just in time for the spring? Yeah, these are a winner. Clean, simple and they’ll work with just about anything. Grab a pair (or maybe even two) of these and put them in your spring/summer rotation. You won’t be disappointed.

1. Adidas Tubular Doom “Special Forces”-Saturday, $160

Designer-inspired kicks are in. Earth tones are in. Shoes with high-tech materials are in. Nobody understands this better than Adidas right now, and that’s why the “Special Forces” Tubular Dooms are #1 on the list this weekend. If you grabbed NMD’s yesterday, and you’re grabbing these on Saturday, then you’re just flat-out winning right now.
