Put Some Respek On It: Birdman’s “Best” Sneaker Collabs

video-217699

Yesterday was an epic day for the Internet.

Birdman, of Cash Money fame (or infamy, depending on who you ask), made a brief visit to the world famous Breakfast Club morning show on New York radio station Power 105.1. The visit was brief because he started tripping the moment he came through the door, berating the hosts and telling them to put some “respek” on his name. He made a fool of himself, and has become the laughingstock of the internet. If you feel like watching it again, we’ve got it for you right here.

With all those hijinks going on yesterday, and Birdman’s name back in the limelight (albeit for negative reasons), we figured we’d reminisce on a part of his history that might not be as well known but is equally as hilarious: his awful sneaker collaborations with Lugz. Yeah, that’s right. Birdman’s had many a collab with Lugz…and they’ve all been just about as horrible as his Breakfast Club interview was. Since we can’t let anything breathe, we’re going to go ahead and roast Birman’s footwear efforts just a day after he took a major L. Take a look at some of these classics:

Birdman

If you’ve seen a Birdman shoe before, it’s likely this one (we’re sorry). It looks like a combination of an Air Force 1 and a Gucci 1984, with a cheesy silver logo thrown on the top just for good measure. Perfect for anyone who just can’t let go of the early 00’s.

Birdman Mid

Lows didn’t do it for you? Take a Birdman Mid with an all-red colorway (Red Octobers these are not), and a strap for good measure. All-red shoes aren’t always dope, and these mid-top monstrosities are proof.

If you were unlucky when you were in middle school, you got these instead of Timberlands for the winter. “They’re the same thing” your parents would tell you while you threw a fit. No, they’re not. They’re not at all.

Which pair of Birdman Lugz do you remember the most (if you remember any)? Did you own a pair or two back in the day?
