10 Deep (word to Scott Sasso).
We’re back again with the 10th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings…and it’s been a while, as the last one was all the way back in February. If you’re new to the site, here’s a quick background: I share my unfiltered thoughts on everything that went down in sneakers the past week. That’s it. Plain and simple. Now that the background’s out of the way, let’s get right to it. Round 10 begins now.
Let’s go ahead and start things off with the Yeezys, as everyone’s hyped to hear some news on the Kanye front. A June 11th release date has been announced for the next color of the wildly popular Yeezy Boost 350’s, and this time it’s going to be a “beluga” colorway (probably the first time a lot of sneakerheads have heard that word). If these rumors, which seem solid, are indeed true, we’ll have a white 350 to rock this summer. Prepare yourself for the Yeezy madness. We’ve had a nice break, but it’s about to envelop everything once again.
Next, how about the Nike Sportswear Olympic pack? Nike always does a great job paying tribute to the Olympics with their special summer releases, and this set of kicks just might be their best work yet. You can get your patriot on, and be fly at the same time. What’s not to love about that? I’m partial to the Uptempos and the Flyknit Prestos personally. What’s your favorite jawn in the pack?
How about we talk a little Under Armor? I don’t discuss UA too much here because I don’t really care for performance basketball shoes off the court, but I will admit that the MVP pack they cooked up for Steph Curry is very nice. Between the loud Curry 1 and the more muted Curry 2, I must admit that they’ve done Steph and his incredible stretch justice, even though I can’t stand the Warriors (and all the bandwagon fans).
Last but not least, the “London” Jordan X’s from the city pack were unveiled this week, and they’re the best out of the pack yet. The simple, understated colorway is significantly better than some of the louder and more obnoxious pairs, like the LA’s. This year’s city pack definitely doesn’t have the charm of the original, but at least there are a few heaters in there.
That’ll do it for the 10th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings. What sneaker news caught your attention the most this week?
