Sunday. You’re probably doing one of two things today, getting ready for Soundset (like us), or sitting back and relaxing, preparing for the week ahead. Whatever it is that you may be doing, we’d like to run something by you…something that just might totally switch up your whole summer style.
What if we told you that you didn’t have to wear shorts and white tees all summer? That you didn’t have to stuff your jeans and hoodies into the back of the closet until the weather started cooling down once again? That’s right. You can join the Toasty Boys.
“What are the Toasty Boys?” you’re probably asking. Well, it’s simple. The Toasty Boys are a group consisting of anyone who commits to being slightly toasty in the summer months for the sake of fashion. If you don’t feel like wearing shorts and tees every single day of the summer (because you’d rather wear pants, hoodies, etc) and can commit to being slightly toasty when it gets warm out, this is just the thing for you. Here’s how to be a Toasty Boy.
Don’t Retire Your Favorite Hoodie
Don’t feel like putting your favorite hoodie away until fall? Keep it in rotation! As long as it’s not way too heavy (you’d probably overheat if you were rocking a Supreme x Champion collabo), you can keep it in your rotation. Several brands even make lightweight summer hoodies, which are a perfect item for a Toasty Boy to have in their wardrobe.
Pants look way better than shorts. Few people would disagree, yet most have an aversion to wearing pants in the summer months. There’s no need. If you can deal with a little swamp crotch (sucks, but nobody ever said the pursuit of flyness was easy), then you can keep wearing pants all summer. And just like hoodies, lots of brands (like Naked and Famous) offer lighter-weight denim for the warmer months. Plus, if you like distressed denim, summer is the perfect time to wear it.
All Black Is Never Out Of Season
The all-black outfit in the summer months is the ultimate Toasty Boys flex. You’re going to be hot, especially if the sun’s out, but at least you’ll be looking fly and like you don’t have a care in the world. If you’re going to layer, make sure your outerwear piece is light so you don’t burn up. If you’re not ready for that yet, the black tee-black jeans-black kicks uniform is always a solid play.
