Fear Of God Gave To Those In Need

Here at KicksOneTwo, we’re fairly openly critical of Jerry Lorenzo’s brand, Fear Of God. We think that Lorenzo receives far more credit than he deserves as a designer, and that Fear Of God isn’t the ground-breaking brand the hype machine (and Justin Bieber) would have you believe it is.

That’s a story for another article though. Today we’re here to sing Lorenzo’s praises … not for his designs, but for his heart. He recently stopped by LA’s Skid Row to hand out shoes and clothes to the homeless who couldn’t afford them. Here’s the video below if you’d like to see for yourself.

Lorenzo mentions that he drives through Skid Row every day, and it hurts him to see the homeless in need of new clothes or shoes. He also states that he’s in a position to give, and he essentially has no right to give away something to someone that doesn’t need it, so he wants to give it to those that are in need.

We really respect Lorenzo’s mindset. Although it seems as everything was hammed up a touch for the cameras (come on, you know a company will never pass up a marketing opportunity), the gesture was real and genuine, and taking care of those who might not be in a position to help themselves is a noble maneuver.

A pair of kicks or a bomber jacket might not be much to us, but to those people it may very well have been everything. So much respect to you for doing some good, Jerry Lorenzo. We might just have to soften our stance on Fear Of God a touch.
