Getting a Jordan collab is a holy grail for many a sneaker shop. It’s hard enough to get a Jordan account so you can carry the product … and it’s almost impossible to get a shop-specific Jordan collab unless you have a ton of clout and a great account (unintentional rhyme), or your dad is Michael Jordan (we’re looking at you, Trophy Room and Marcus Jordan). They’re more likely to collab with an athlete or a performance artist.
There’s a short and esteemed list when it comes to Jordan collabs … but after some thought we’ve realized that Miami’s Solefly might just be the best. Their upcoming “Florida Marlins” XXIII’s (pictured above) have thrown the Internet into a frenzy, and their past efforts like the Eclipses, the Spiz’ikes, and the III’s have all been bangers too.
They’re everything you could ask for in a collaborative sneaker. They’re limited, and almost impossible to find on the aftermarket. They’re great colorways. They have a backstory that’s tied in with whoever designed them (for Solefly, it’s usually some form of Miami or Florida reference). They use the power of Jordan and the uniqueness of whomever they might be collaborating with.
Solefly checks off all these boxes, and that’s why we’re willing to go ahead and label them the top dog when it comes to Jordan collabs. Sure, we love everything from the OVO’s to the Don C’s … but you’ve got to stray off the beaten path to find the real bangers sometimes.
What do you think of Solefly and their collab Jordans? What’s your favorite pair they’ve ever done? Are you lucky enough to own a pair?
