Ronnie Fieg. A name that every sneakerhead knows well. A man who’s known for thoughtful, tasteful designs on his collaborative footwear efforts and his own Kith clothing. A man who’s fully entered the spotlight after his Kithland presentation last week.
Ronnie and Kith have always been ahead of the curve. They were one of the first brands to really, truly popularize the jogger pant stateside, and now they create everything from cut-and-sew menswear to a full-fledged women’s line that’s been met with critical acclaim. The creativity doesn’t just stop at the product either. Ronnie’s retail stores are constantly lauded for being top-of-the-line when it comes to their design and aesthetic.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we’re bringing you one of our favorite classic tracks … with one of the best beats you’ve ever heard, and a great video to boot. Here’s Pharoahe Monch’s “Simon Says”.
It’s official: Summer’s over, and fall is upon us.
Starting in June and ending in August, I took Polaroids of my friends (or enlisted them to take one if I’m in the picture) on a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8. They may be made into a book within the next few months, but I thought it only right to premiere them right here on KicksOneTwo These are the faces of Summer Sixteen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Enjoy!
I had a great deal of fun shooting all of these photos, and am extremely thankful to have so many awesome people around me all summer. Ya’ll are the best.read more
Piff Minneapolis is hosting the “Fall Festival” block party on Como Avenue, right in front of the “I’m Feeling Good” mural by the shop from 3PM-7PM. The event is completely free to attend … but if you do feel like donating money, Football Pizza, Blue Door Pub, and Black Coffee and Waffle Bar will be donating a percentage of their sales to the Minneapolis Boys and Girls Club, so you can eat good and feel good at the same time. That’s a rare opportunity, so it’s definitely one you want to take advantage of when it comes around.read more
It’s Friday. The weekend isn’t even upon us yet, and we’ve already been blessed with some dumb fire, courtesy of Nike x Supreme (Blazers), and Nike x Acronym (Prestos).
That’s just the tip of the iceberg though. This weekend is one of the most loaded sneaker release weekends in recent memory with collabs and premium releases galore dropping … so you already know we had to rank our 5 favorites. We’ve gotta say: in all our years of ranking jawns we’ve never had this much difficulty creating a list, but we somehow managed to make the tough decisions and narrow all the releases down to just 5. Let’s get right to it.read more
The Triple White Ultra Boost: a shoe that truly never shows any signs of slowing down. It’ll restock, sell out, restock, sell out again, restock again, sell out again. It’s fall now, and the temperature is getting cooler which usually means it’s time to put the white kicks away, but you still see that all-white Ultra Boost everywhere you go.
Well, all good things (and fire jawns) must come to an end sooner or later. Adidas has announced that the Triple Whites will restock one last time on their online store this month … and then they’ll be done, as the Three Stripes will be moving on to whatever new fire they’ve got coming out.read more
We love the Austin Powers series here at KicksOneTwo. The crazy, over-sexualized spy has brought us a lot of laughs, and so has his supporting cast of characters, like Fat Bastard and Mini-Me. The movies were a large part of our childhood, so any time someone from the films is in the news, we like to see what’s going on
So you already know we were in for a treat this week when we saw that Mini-Me himself, Verne Troyer, was sent a pair of Yeezy 350 Boosts (in infant sizes, of course … he is Mini-Me after all), we couldn’t wait to see the video for ourselves.read more
We love Kith here at KicksOneTwo. Their aesthetic is sporty yet clean and refined, they crank out consistently good product year after year, and they’re always cooking up crazy collabs, like their recently announced Bergdorf Goodman partnership, consisting of a Kith shop within the legendary store, and a co-branded line of apparel. Ronnie Fieg stays winning, and despite all the naysayers … he can do no wrong.
So, needless to say, we were thrilled when the news broke that Kith would be hosting their first-ever runway show, “Kithland” during New York Fashion week. We were even more stoked when it was announced that Kithland would be live-streamed on the Kith website for those of us not lucky enough to be in New York for the event.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we bring you one of our favorite tracks off of Isaiah Rashad’s new album “The Sun’s Tirade”. Here’s “Free Lunch”.
My favorite basketball player of all time was elected to the Hall Of Fame last week.
Allen Ezail Iverson, legendary for his heart, scoring ability, and deadly crossover has taken his rightful place in a shrine reserved for the greatest to ever play the game.
Anyone who’s seen him play knows: there was nothing like him before, and there will be nothing like him again. He was always on the attack, moving 100 miles an hour even when he was clearly exhausted. He had the heart of a lion, going right at men who were bigger and stronger than he was. If he couldn’t go through them, he’d go around them. He had an uncanny ability to create space and get to the hoop.read more
On the eve of the 2016-17 NFL season, some of Adidas’s top football players were blessed with Yeezy cleats that sent the Internet and the sneaker world into a frenzy. Von Miller was the first to break the news, as he was blessed with a 750 cleat. DeAndre Hopkins and Adrian Peterson were also gifted with cleats, however theirs were of the low-top 350 variety.
This is a big deal. A very big deal. It’s much more than just some cool Yeezy cleats. This is Adidas’s first step towards integrating Kanye’s designs into their performance products … and they look absolutely great. The 750 is perfect for a strong defensive player like Miller, and the 350 looks ideal for the speed of Hopkins and the quickness of Adrian Peterson.read more
September: an interesting month. School’s back in full swing. Football’s just starting up. Summer is mostly over, and fall is just starting. You haven’t quite retired your summer sneaker rotation, but you haven’t quite broken out the fall rotation yet. It’s a month of transition.
And this year, with that transition comes two great events for sneakerheads, fashionistas, musicians, artists, and anyone else who’s looking to link with like-minded individuals, make connections, and have a great time: Piff’s Fall Festival block party, and Studiiyo23’s TSCAX8.read more
We’re not big fans of the Roshe here at KicksOneTwo. Sure, it was cool when it first came out, but it became totally and completely washed faster than any other shoe ever. The Roshe is to sneakers what Been Trill is to clothing (you know that’s a true statement). We drag it on Twitter. We joke about it in person. We even use it for batting practice.
So you already know we were licking our chops at the prospect of new comedic material when the Roshe Two was announced … and Nike didn’t let us down one bit. Newsflash: still trash (see what we did there?). It looks like a neoprene foot condom. It looks like a duck foot. If it was a video game, it would be Trash Bandicoot. It looks like something you might want to wear with your straight-leg pants and oversized button down. It looks like … well, you get the picture.read more
It’s a big day for the culture today. There’s a Supreme drop, featuring a Dash Snow collab. Palace has a drop in the evening. And most importantly, Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 show will be premiering live on Tidal at 3PM ET (that’s 2 PM Minneapolis time for those of you who don’t understand time zones).
No matter if you love or hate ‘Ye, you can’t deny that his Yeezy Season shows are a big deal. The industry turns out en masse, and it seems that the whole world stops what they’re doing to watch his fashion shows. There’s a lot of controversy surrounding this one, as the Internet seems to be in an uproar over his casting call for “bi-racial models”, and he’ll be premiering his much-discussed kids line as well.read more
Tour merch used to not be a big deal. You’d go see an artist you liked in concert, and you might just buy yourself a t-shirt from their merch stand if you liked them enough. Maybe if you were a really big fan, you’d head over to their website and grab yourself some merch on there. It wasn’t really a fashion statement of any sort, you’d just wear it because you liked the artist.
Oh, how things have changed. Starting with Kanye’s “Yeezus” tour merch, the demand for artist goods has increased tenfold. Tour merch is limited. It resells for high prices. It sells out right away, and is not easy to get anymore. Justin Bieber’s “Purpose Tour” merch was designed by Jerry Lorenzo and had a pop-up at VFILES. Travis Scott just announced his new merch line will consist of 60 (that’s right, 60) pieces. Kanye’s Pablo line has been so successful that people line up for hours to buy it at pop-up shops all over the world.read more
Designer sneakers are a polarizing topic among sneakerheads. Some love them for their high quality and extravagant styling. Some think they’re overpriced rip-offs of classic athletic designs and won’t give them the time of day whatsoever. No matter what side of the spectrum you fall on, we’re sure you feel some type of way about designer shoes.
New Ace Flames Sneaker, $695
However, no matter if you love them or hate them, you’ve got to tip your hat to Gucci. They’ve been absolutely KILLING the designer footwear game recently, making the kind of shoes that you just can’t hate, no matter how you feel about the category as a whole.read more
You’re probably heading to the mall for one of two reasons today.
The first reason is a good one. You won a raffle for the Bred I’s, and you’re going in to buy your pair. The second reason? Not such a good one. You’re going to the mall in the hope that someone who won the raffle won’t be picking up their pair. Believe us, we understand the need to take a second shot at getting your hands on a pair, but it’s no fun. You’re standing there waiting, hoping that somebody, anybody, doesn’t come claim their shoes so you can grab them instead. If you’re really unlucky, a line will form for leftover raffled shoes.read more
We’re damn near 3/4 of the way done with 2016 already (can you believe it?), and through all the ups and downs of the sneaker year, and all the trends that came and went, one shoe that remained steadfastly dope was the Ultra Boost. The new 2.0 version rolled out with a myriad different colors and Continental rubber bottoms for increased durability, making the Ultra Boost one of the hottest shoes of the year.
But as anyone who has owned or currently owns a pair knows, they’re not the most hardy shoes in the world. They are runners after all, and they’re not really designed to take a beating in the winter months. Thankfully, Adidas knows this and has designed an Ultra Boost ATR, a shoe designed for more inclement conditions that.read more
As we repeatedly make it clear, we’re huge Jordan I fans at KicksOneTwo. We’re generally skeptical of new colorways as we prefer OG’s *adjusts fitted cap and pulls up sagging cargo shorts*, but we were cautiously optimistic about the release of the Jordan I “Top Three”, as we stated in an article a little over a week ago.
So here we are. We promised we’d keep you, our beloved readers, updated on the shoe and the first leaked images of the are upon us. Our first thoughts upon seeing the images? Not bad. Not bad at all.read more
A large part of Supreme’s allure every season is the collabs. ‘Preme fans all over the world wait with baited breath at the beginning of every season to see what kind of fire is going to be emptying their wallets for the next few months.
These collabs are usually not announced in advance, and sometimes come to light mere days before they release. Supreme certainly keeps you on your toes, and this season’s first footwear collab with Timberland was just announced, consisting of Timberland’s classic Field Boot (releasing sometime in December) and Lug Shoe (releasing Thursday).read more
Sneaker raffles. Can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em. Some sneakerheads can’t stand them. They’d rather do it old-school first come, first serve style and wait in line for hours or days to secure their pair. Some sneakerheads understand that they’re a necessary evil with the way hype is nowadays, and will gladly trudge to their local mall to fill out tickets.
No matter how you feel about raffles, you’ve got to do ’em to get the shoes that you want … so you might as well make the process as easy as possible. We’ve compiled a little guide of tips and tricks to make the experience as smooth as possible, and we figured now’s as good of a time as any to share it as you’ll probably be heading to the mall to raffle for the Bred I’s this week. Let’s get right to it.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we’re bringing you one of the most fire remixes of 2016. Here’s Rob $tone’s “Chill Bill” remix, featuring D.R.A.M., Denzel Curry, and Cousin Stizz.
A little over a week ago, we decried the rock tee. We said it was washed. We said the trend was over (which it is).
But we understand that you probably have a few rock tees in your wardrobe … and now you need something to replace them. Even if you don’t have any rock tees that need replacing, you need to be sure that you have a few heater graphic tees in your wardrobe as they’re an essential fall layering piece. We know a good graphic tee when we see one, so we thought we’d share 5 of our favorites with you, and we even included the links to the product pages so you can cop if you’re so inclined.read more
Ah, talk shows. The domain of puffed-up talking heads, underpaid writers, bad jokes and celebrity guests. You know they suck, but you just can’t stop watching them. There’s an addictive quality about them that can’t quite be quantified, and that’s just what makes them so damn enjoyable to watch.
Here at KicksOneTwo, we try our best to avoid watching these shows … but sometimes we fall into the network television trap and can’t turn them off. And we’ll admit, occasionally they’re funny … and sometimes they’re even related to the culture we love.read more
It’s been almost 3 years. 3 long years since the last time my favorite Jordan ever dropped. I went through withdraws. I took my pair out to rock, then put it back in the box because I didn’t want to mess it up, then I took it out again and put it on my feet.
I wore it in the winter. The summer. The spring. The fall. I wore it at any and every given opportunity, yet I somehow still managed to keep my favorite shoes ever crispy.
And now, they’re dropping again next weekend. That’s right, the Bred I’s are back on shelves next Saturday … and Jordan Brand was sure to do them justice. I’m geeked. The quality looks incredible, and copping them will give me a chance to put my 2013’s back on ice for a few years.read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, we do our best to show love to local artists dropping great music … and one of our favorite Minneapolis rappers dropped a HEATER of a remix to one of the summer’s best songs today.
Knucky, from the Free Lunch crew just released the video for his remix of Schoolboy Q and Kanye West’s ‘That Part”, and we’ve got to admit: it might just be our favorite remix of the track yet. Check it out below, and see for yourself.
Sneaker design is dope. The thought, time, and creativity that goes into designing silhouettes, choosing materials, and nailing the little details that make a shoe unique is a special skill, and one that not many people possess.
Most of us can just imagine and dream about creating our own sneaker silhouette (no, making a custom colorway on NikeID doesn’t count), but thanks to Hypebeast, at least we can get a chance to see the process happen from the ground up.
John Tang, founder and creative director of FRONTEER (and former creative director of K-Swiss) breaks down the process of creating a shoe in the video, from the initial creative process of finding inspiration in something (rock climbing shoes in his case), to sketching out the sneaker’s design (freehand to ink to markers), to working on the tech pack (which is what the factory needs to make sure the proportions of the shoe are proper and all the correct materials are used). Check it out below.read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, our love for the Jordan I is widely known. We’ve waxed poetic about it many a time over our 2+ years of existence. We wear them all the time. We stay up to date on new releases and colorways, and that’s what we’re discussing today.
Earlier this year, blogs were bubbling with the news that a “What The” Jordan I would be dropping on November 28th, one day after Black Friday. Photoshop experts across the Internet were coming up with mock colorways, of the shoe, and it was a classic sneaker situation: lots of questions, next to no answers.read more
Every 4 years when the Olympics come around, we’re treated to lots of great shoes. Brands bring out their latest and greatest to showcase on the world’s biggest stage … and sneakerheads get a chance to immerse themselves in dozens of Olympic collections, collaborations, and colorways. Each and every Olympic Games has their own special releases, but Rio 2016 may very well be one of the best Olympics in terms of sneakers yet, as every brand that dropped special products came correct.read more
Sneakerheads are always thirsty for any shoe designed/endorsed by Kanye West. You already know this. You know about the raffles. The instant sell-outs online. The crazy resell prices. The hype is borderline insane. But did you ever really think it would extend to baby shoes?
In case you haven’t heard, the beloved Yeezy 350 Boost will be releasing in infant sizes this fall. That’s right, there are going to be baby Yeezys. Now you can dress your little one in Kanye’s finest footwear for a whopping $120.read more
Trends come, and they go. What starts out as a fashion statement by a select few will catch on like wildfire, and grow until it’s found at every mall retailer you can think of, and worn by every trend-hopper you know. You can’t go anywhere without seeing it, whatever it may be. What was once cool has become totally washed, and needs to be retired.
The most recent trend to reach this level of hype? Rock tees. What was once only worn by rock fans to support their favorite band has now infiltrated mainstream fashion culture on every level, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon … which is why now is a perfect time for you to remove any and all rock tees from your wardrobe.read more
It’s time to start getting your fall wardrobe ready.
Sure, we’ve still got a decent chunk of summer in front of us … but the start of school is drawing closer and closer, and it’ll be upon us before you know it. You’ll always see an influx of new clothing in the fall, and you might have an opportunity to get acquainted with a brand you’re not terribly familiar with.
We always do our best to spot trends in the Twin Cities, and there are three brands that we really think you’ll be seeing more of this fall. Just remember who called it when you see it.read more

Gucci’s old fans are thrilled about his successful return too, and day 1 OG Gucci supporter and designer Chris Bailey recently hosted a “Gucci Time” pop-up shop at Rival Sneakers in Tucson, AZ. You probably saw the news when you woke up Monday morning. There’s a good chance your phone was buzzing with texts from your fashion-forwards homies asking for your opinion and thoughts. The Internet is going nuts, like it always does. Yup, the lookbook and product images for Supreme F/W ’16 are upon us.
So here’s a true first impression for you. I just finished browsing through everything for the very first time, and am going off the top of my head with my unfiltered thoughts and opinions on the collection. It’s 11 AM Monday as this is being written, and we’re getting right to it. The first word that comes to my mind? Safe.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we’re feeling nostalgic … so we’re going to bring you some classic Clipse heat. Here’s “Mama I’m So Sorry”, off of their classic album Hell Hath No Fury.
A lot of sneaker heads are product nerds … and who can blame us? It’s dope learning about the different materials that go into a shoe, what they do, and how the shoes themselves are constructed. There’s a myriad of different technologies on the market, and each offers their own special benefits.
We’re betting that if you’re here reading this article, you know a good amount about technology. You understand the difference between Air Max and Zoom Air. You know what makes Boost foam so great. But have you ever seen what a shoe looks like when it’s been completely cut open? What the difference between an older release and a newer release is on the inside?read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, we can always appreciate a fire jacket. As summer’s drawing to a close and fall’s almost upon us (it’s coming up faster than you might think!), it’s crucial that you keep a few in your wardrobe.
Well, you’re in luck. The homie Gerald from NSOD Clothing just dropped his most recent “Mirror” jacket in a super-clean red, white, and silver colorway. It features NSOD (which stands for Never Stop On Dreams if you didn’t already know) detailing on the arm, a “Masked Dreamer” logo on the chest a 3M hood and back panel, custom cloud-print lining, and if all that wasn’t enough for you, it’s even reversible so you can rock the clouds on the outside if you chose.read more
There’s a wealth of sneaker-related content on YouTube. From unboxing videos to vlogs to product reviews, there’s truly something for every sneakerhead, as there are hundreds of channels you can watch.
However, we’ve gotta admit … it used to be better. Nowadays Qias Omar’s dorky vlogs (we like the guy but you’re lying to yourself if you say he’s not a bit of a herb) and Blake Linder’s rich-kid douchiness (will someone please catch him slipping at Heat Club one of these days?) seem to overpower what used to be a haven for a small community of real sneakerheads. The game has certainly evolved and changed, and not all of it is for the better.read more
The Olympics: A time of awe-inspiring athletic feats. A time of great personal and national triumphs. A time of excellent marketing and fire sneaker releases.
You know that every time the Olympics come around, you’re going to get absolutely slammed with marketing. TV ads. “Official ____ Of The USA Olympic Team” packaging. Shoes inspired by the athletes, the logos, the medals, and anything else that’s marketable at the Olympic Games.
There’s a lot of dope stuff from many a brand this year, like Nike’s Olympic pack (which we wrote about a few weeks back), but Adidas will be taking home the gold medal for “best Olympic sneakers” this year when it’s all said and done.read more
If you’ve even minimally paid attention to street culture over the last decade-plus, the name Kaws should resonate with you. The art and graffiti legend has created many a memorable piece, be it on a canvas or an bus shelter ad, and has collaborated with everyone from Bape to Medicom to Undercover to Supreme to Hennessy, and even designed the Moon Man award for the MTV VMA’s in 2009. The colorways were creative and inspiring (Lebron South Beach, KD Aunt Pearl, Kobe Mambacurial to name a few). Everything except the most widely available general releases would blow off the shelves, and sneakerheads around the world had piles and piles of orange Nike boxes stacked up high in their rooms. Yeah, Nike Basketball was the best.
But around the release of the LeBron 11 and the KD 7, a strange thing started happening: Nike Basketball releases (even the hyped ones) were sitting. Resell prices plummeted. You could get grails like Big Bang Lebron 9’s for a fraction of what they used to cost, as most of their owners were frantically trying to unload them.read more

Damn Under Armour … back at it again with the gag-inducing designs.
That was my first thought when I saw the Curry 2 Luxe, Under Armour’s first real attempt at a lifestyle shoe design. I’ll admit: at first, it makes sense. The most popular player in the NBA, fresh off another MVP season (yeah, he lost in the finals, but his star is still shining brightly … ask any kid on your block) gets a lifestyle shoe that his fans can rock off the court. Doesn’t sound like a terrible idea, right?read more

Sure, there’s about a month before most Minnesotans head back to school, but that first day’s coming up faster than you might think. They sure do have a funny way of creeping up on you.
And on that first day, you want to make sure that you’re extra fresh. That you have the chance to stunt on everyone, just like you’ve been dreaming of doing all summer. Let’s face it: the first day of school is really just a giant fashion show. Sure, you’re excited to see everyone that you haven’t seen for a while (or maybe you’re not … we know some of you might be a bit anti-social), but what you’re really excited for is the chance to put together your best outfit and make some fire first impressions.read more

With that much heat dropping on one day, we thought it would be only right to break it down into a top 3, and after several hours of hand-wringing, head-scratching, and careful thought, we were able to do just that. Here’s our 3 favorite NMD’s from this massive restock.read more
We love Round 2’s YouTube series, “The Show”. We wrote about why you need to watch it. We’ve devoured every episode from the first two seasons (even the episodes that are an hour long seem to fly by), and eagerly awaited the premiere of Season 3, as Round Two seems to get bigger and more popular with every month that passes.
The premier of Season 3 arrived on Sunday, and it’s a fantastic start to what should be a crazy season, as Round 2 continues to grow. It’s been 3 1/2 months. That’s far too long. This is extremely overdue. So here we are, with the 9th (can you believe it?) edition of our Shameless Instagram Plug series, where we unabashedly promote our Instagram.

We’re trying new angles. New lenses. New editing techniques. Whatever we can to bring you the freshest, dopest Instagram sneaker photos possible.read more
Wake up, wake up, wake up. It’s the first of the mooooonth … and even though it’s not Bone Thugs, we’ve got a jam for you to get the month kicked off on a good note. Here’s “Pop Off” by Casey Veggies.
I’ve got a good variety. I’ve got summer shoes. I’ve got winter shoes. I’ve got high-tops. I’ve got low-tops. I’ve got shoes that are crazy as well as shoes that are muted. I like to think that my collection is diverse, and that I’ve got a fresh pair for any outfit or occasion.
However, like most sneakerheads, there are a few pairs that I badly want and don’t have. They may have been within reach before and I just didn’t pull the trigger for whatever reason, or they might never have been close to being in my grasp. There have been lots of shoes I wanted and didn’t get over the years, but 3 pairs stick out more than any others. Here’s 3 shoes i really wish I had.read more

There’s a simple process to it, and today we’re laying it out step-by-step-by-step-by-step (that’s 4 steps for those of you who can’t count) so you can make sure your favorite pairs stay crispy no matter how much you wear them. Owning and running a sneaker business can be tough. The market is up-and-down. Trends come and go at the speed of light. The hottest shoe of 6 months ago could hardly be worth retail now. It’s a constantly evolving and changing world, and it’s borderline impossible to keep pace. Sneaker businesses rise, and they fall.
The latest business to take that fall was JsForDays, a name familiar to many in the Minnesota sneaker community. Known mostly for their online pre-orders (you could pay extra for the peace of mind that comes with a guaranteed pair of a limited release), JsForDays recently took a big leap of faith by spending half a million dollars to purchase the collection of Kenny Williams, or Air Kenny, which consisted of everything from Oregon III’s to Legends of Summer I’s. We even wrote about the staggering purchase four short months ago.read more
There’s no denying it: signature shoes are expensive. Very expensive. An NBA player’s name and logo on a sneaker can fetch a price point that’s unthinkable to some casual consumers … but that player’s fans will continue to buy the shoe.
The most expensive signature shoe line on the market belongs to none other than the King himself, LeBron James. King James fetches a whopping $200 a pair for his kicks, severely lightening the wallets of young fans across the country.read more
Unless you were born into wealth, there was probably a point in time when you were younger that you couldn’t always afford the kicks that you wanted. Spending upwards of $150 on a pair of kicks wasn’t always feasible for you or your parents. So how did you manage to get fresh on a budget? If you’re now in your mid 20’s, you know there was only one thing to do back in the day: go to Champs for that 2 for $89.99.
As a young whippersnapper, there was no deal more lit. You could get two pairs of kicks for the price of one, and get a little rotation going for yourself so you didn’t have to wear the same thing every single day. Need a pair of Adidas? Wanted to channel your inner streetball legend and rock some And 1’s? Prefer to get on your 80’s steez with some Filas? No matter what you wanted to do, you were covered (if you were wondering, our favorite shoe on the deal was always the Fila F-13. No lie, they were crispier than Air Force 1’s to us).read more

For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we bring you one of our favorite tracks off of Cousin Stizz’s excellent new mixtape “MONDA”. Here’s “Down Like That”, featuring Larry June.
We’re product nerds here at KicksOneTwo. We like finding about what exactly goes into a shoe and how various sneaker technologies work.
One of our favorite things about shoes are the cushioning systems used. From Max Air to Lunarlon, to Zoom Air, to DMX, to Bounce, we love it all. We’d be hard-pressed to pick a favorite, but if you made us choose … we’d have to go with Boost.
That’s right, Boost. Adidas’s revolutionary cushioning system, designed in partnership with NASA. It’s billed as a “revolutionary cushioning system that returns more energy per foot strike than traditional EVA foam”. It’s also more resilient than standard foam, and will not lose its cushioning after multiple wears. Adidas promises that no matter the temperature or conditions, Boost will be the softest and most comfortable ride available, and we’d have to agree with that statement.read more
Every year for the last 31 years, the sneaker world has stopped when Jordan Brand unveils the newest model in their signature line. From the 1’s to the 14’s to the Jordan 2009’s (remember those?), it’s big news every time a new signature Jordan releases … and it’s about to be that time again as the Jordan 31 is dropping September 3rd.
Heavily inspired by the shoe that started it all, the OG Bred (or Banned) Jordan I, the Jordan 31 does a great job of fusing old and new technology together for a look that’s vintage yet sleek. The off-court wearability of the past few models has been questionable at best (even though they were terrific performance shoes), so it’s nice to see a signature model that’ll look just as good on the streets as it does on the court. It’s the first model ever to feature the Jumpman, Wings, and Swoosh logos all together, and the large “Banned” hit on the outsole is a very nice touch as well.read more
There’s nothing quite like a classic sneaker that ages like fine wine. The longer you have it, the doper it gets. Maybe you’ve had it for 5 years. Maybe 10. Maybe 20. But every time you wear it, it just seems to get better and better. That’s how you know a shoe is a classic.
However, not every shoe can do this. Some shoes are period pieces, and are better left where they came from. The aging process can be a harsh one, and the three shoes we’re about to show you, all hot when they came out, just flat-out didn’t age well. Let’s get right to it.read more
The sneaker gods have blessed us with a weekend full of fire. There’s truly something for everyone releasing this weekend, no matter if your preference is retros or tech runners. And you already know when we’re blessed with a weekend full of heat, we rank it … so let’s get right to the ranking. Here’s the top 5 sneaker releases this weekend.
5. Nike Metcon 2 “Metcon Knows”- Friday, $140
We’re not fans of CrossFit. Most of the people who do it talk about it way too much (nobody cares about your workout routine), and we’re not normally fans of the shoes made for it either … but we’ve got to admit that these “Metcon Knows” Metcon II’s are dope. Slapping the original color way of the Air Trainer 1, one of the most iconic Nike trainers ever on their latest and greatest training shoe is a fantastic idea, as the colorway is just as fire today as it was when it first released. This shoe just makes a lot of sense.read more
Ian Connor. A true product of the Internet (thanks a lot for this one, Tumblr). A “stylist/model” who has managed to get famous and rub shoulders with the likes of A$AP Rocky and Kanye West, even though he lacks any noticeable talent whatsoever.
Connor’s fall from grace was just as fast as his meteoric rise to fame, as he was accused of rape by multiple women who had strikingly similar stories, and then punched out by A$AP Bari (his former mentor) after attempting to punch Theophilus London, another mentor, in Paris.read more
Sneakerheads live for buzzwords. OG. Remastered. Limited. Exclusive. Europe-only. Kanye (lol). Throw enough of those buzzwords around when you’re discussing a shoe, and it’ll automatically become desirable, even if the shoe itself is really not all that great. Thankfully, that’s not at all the case with this weekend’s hottest release.
Every so often a shoe comes around that checks off these buzzwords and is actually as good as it’s hyped up to be … and one of those shoes is dropping this very weekend. Yes, we’re talking about the “Black Metallic” Jordan V’s.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we bring you one of the funniest freestyles we’ve heard in a long while. Here’s idontknowjeffrey’s “5:40 AM Freestyle”.
Old is new again. Recently the demand for vintage (or faux-vintage) t-shirts has been sweeping street culture. It doesn’t matter if Guns N’Roses or Master P graphics adorn the front, if it’s old-school, it’s dope is the line of thinking right now.
You’ve probably seen more and more people with these old-school tees on, so how do you stay a step ahead of them? Simple. Cop a bleached tee.
You’ve got lots of options, so no matter what your preference is, there’s something for you out there. Want something that’s a little more artistic-looking and tame with the blotches? Check out Vintage Bleach (purveyors of the finest bleached tees you’ll find anywhere in our opinion). Want something a little louder and in-your-face? You can easily find a shirt like this Iron Maden tee above. Not sure exactly what you want just yet? That’s not a problem either. You can easily bleach a shirt yourself if you’re feeling adventurous.read more
Gucci Mane and Supreme. A legendary rapper and a legendary brand, each with their own fervent cult following, Gucci for his persona and clever wordplay, and Supreme for their legacy and attitude.
You’d never think that they’d come together for a collaboration (even the most ardent hypebeast can’t say they saw it coming) … but now that they did, you’ve got to love the results. Indie hero Harmony Korine, the director of Spring Breakers (which Gucci played a major role in) directed an ad in which Gucci, decked out in a Supreme box logo tee, plays the piano, sings, talks about Supreme, and shares his shopping habits. If you haven’t seen it yet, click here to check it out.read more
Finding your go-to music for the summer is essential. It’s gotta give off the right vibes. It’s gotta sound good in the car. It has to fit the summertime mood just right.
Thankfully, KicksOneTwo staff favorite Cousin Stizz has got you covered with his new project, “MONDA”, named after a friend of his that passed away at a young age from cancer. The tape is catchy, yet slightly sinister. Melodic, yet it still knocks. Yeah, it’s perfect for the summertime.
If you’re not familiar with Stizzy yet, let us give you a quick background: The Boston-based (yeah, that’s right … not what you expected, huh?) rapper burst onto the scene with his standout 2015 tape, Suffolk County (do yourself a favor and listen here if you haven’t heard the tape yet), and garnered attention with standout tracks from the project like “Shoutout” and “Fresh Prince”.read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, we share what we like. If we rock with something, we’ll always be sure to let you, our loyal readers know about it. We know that some of you are Nike Sportswear lovers. We know that some of you are old-school Jordan heads. We know that some of you love whatever shoes Kanye West puts his stamp on. No matter what you love, we’d highly suggest that you try a pair of Vans or two this summer.
Yes, Vans. The classic California skate shoe that’s become a go-to for more than just skaters. They’re classic. They’re surprisingly comfy. They have great collabs (we miss you, Vans Syndicate *crying emoji*). They look dope with both pants and shorts. They’re extremely versatile, and they look great beat up, so it really doesn’t matter how much wear you put into them … they’ll still be fly.read more
We’re spending a lot of time talking about legendary athletes this week. Yesterday’s article was an ode to Tim Duncan, who announced his retirement in the most Tim Duncan way possible … quietly and without fanfare. Today we’re discussing an athlete from a different sport, but one who’s just as legendary as Timmy D: Derek Jeter.
The long-time Yankee captain and shortstop (who retired in 2014) has a long-standing relationship with Jordan Brand, who provided him with cleats, turf shoes, batting gloves and more during his playing career. During his farewell tour in 2014, Jordan Brand heavily promoted their “RE2PECT” campaign to pay homage to him, and just because his playing days are over doesn’t mean he’s done working with them. Yesterday it was announced that Jeter and Jordan Brand were coming together for a “RE2PECT” line of training footwear and apparel set to launch in the spring of 2017. He was also named the “captain” of Jordan Brand’s athletes, which shows you how much respect (or RE2PECT if you want to use marketing terms) the brand has for him.read more
The best power forward to ever play the game of basketball retired yesterday.
Tim Duncan called it quits after 19 seasons (all with the San Antonio Spurs of course), 5 NBA Championships, 2 MVP’s, 3 Finals MVP’s, 15 All-Star selections, 10 All-NBA First Team selections, and a whole host of other honors.
In true Tim Duncan fashion, he announced his retirement quietly and without fanfare. He didn’t need to have a big, over-dramatic final season filled with sappy tributes and everyone waxing poetic about how great he was every time the Spurs were on TV. He didn’t need a farewell tour. He wanted to retire quietly, on his own terms, and he did just that.read more
For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we bring you one of our favorite tracks off of Schoolboy Q’s new “Blank Face” LP … and it’s even accompanied by a short film. Here’s “By Any Means”
There’s only three things guaranteed in life: death, taxes, and Nike releasing an Olympic Pack of sneakers every four years. This installment of Olympic kicks offers everything from basketball shoes to retro runners, and there’s definitely some heat to be had … so you already know what we had to do. We had to hit you with the official KicksOneTwo rankings. Let’s get right to it.
6. Air Max BW
Coming in at the bottom of the list is the Air Max BW. The shoe itself is nothing to write home about, and the black/white doesn’t work so well with the red, navy, and gold accents. Not bad, but not special. Not much more needs to be said.read more
I love the Nike Hyperdunk. It’s my favorite Nike Basketball shoe of all time. You may remember that I wrote a whole piece on my love for the Hyperdunk a little while back. So obviously when I found out that the original Hyperdunks would be re-releasing, I was extremely excited. I headed on down to the mall earlier this week to grab a pair of the all-black colorway (my favorite), but when I got to the mall, I was sorely disappointed. It wasn’t like the original (which I still have, mind you) at all.read more
If you’re a KicksOneTwo reader, we’re going to take a leap of faith and say you know what streetwear is. You know the difference between a camp cap and a dad hat, can discuss rare Supreme pieces, and still love a good mid 00’s Kaws tee.
We’re going to take another leap of faith and say that you might not know what kendamas are. They’re a hand-eye coordination skill toy that originated in Japan several hundred years ago. They consist of a ball on a string attached to a handle with three different size cups and a spike. You can toss the ball up into the cups and do all sorts of dope spins, flips, and other tricks with it. If you’re still confused, it’s similar to freestyle yo-yoing with all the nifty moves and tricks you can do.read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, we’re Desiigner fans. We rock with his energy, enthusiasm, and crazy on-stage dances, so we were excited to hear what he’d bring to the table with his recent “New English” mixtape. Now that some time has passed and we’ve been able to listen to the tape a few times, we’ve been able to form an opinion … and that opinion is that the tape is not good at all.
It’s chaotic and disjointed. Several songs are incredibly short (one’s 38 seconds and another is 24 seconds, which isn’t even really enough to be a song). and on others he sounds so much like Future you really can’t tell the difference.read more
You’ve heard the news. Kevin Durant has decided to join the Warriors. You’ve heard the opinions on KD’s move to the team who last year set the mark for best regular-season record in the NBA too, mostly negative (for the record, we don’t love it either. You’re one game away from the Finals, and you leave to join the team that you lost to? Nahhh). You’ve probably also heard about the potential sneaker ramifications, and that’s what we’re talking about today.read more
Here at KicksOneTwo, we love hats. Dad hats, camp caps, fitteds, snapbacks, we’ll rock them all. We’re the people you see at the barbershop who get the fresh cut and shamelessly throw the hat right back on immediately after it’s done. Yeah, that’s how hat-crazed we are.
A hat is an essential part of your wardrobe, and you’ll be able to throw on the right hat with any fit, so it’s important that you know what you need to get. As we consider ourselves experts on the subject, we thought we’d share our expertise with you…so here’s a few things you can do to ensure that you get the perfect hat.read more
Happy 4th of July! We know you need some new bangers for your playlist today, so for this edition of Music Mondays, we bring you a new track from the homies RP Hooks and GoodKarmaNiles that’s produced by Tek. Here’s “HFF”
We’re not even going to front: basketball shoes are expensive. Take the newest technology from a big company, be it Flyknit, Boost, or Charged Foam, slap it into a well-designed shoe, and put a famous player like LeBron James or Steph Curry’s name on it, and you can pretty much charge whatever you want for it.
It’s marketing, capitalism, and sneaker design at their finest, and they can’t be stopped. The disadvantage to this is that they can’t always be afforded either. Not every mom/dad can afford to drop $150+ on a pair of signature shoes for their kid, no matter how badly they’d like to.read more
Welcome to July. The month isn’t even 72 hours old yet, and we’re already being blessed with a cornucopia of dope sneaker releases, which makes it a perfect time for one of our infamous Top 5 lists. Some of the kicks on the list dropped yesterday (if you didn’t get them already, they’re probably sold out), and some are dropping today…but no matter what kind of sneaker you like, there’s something for you on this list. Let’s get right to it. Here’s the top 5 sneaker releases this weekend, top 5 sneaker releases this weekend (don’t worry…we won’t say it a 3rd time. This isn’t Beetlejuice).read more
After the big announcement this week…it’s become Yeezy Week here on KicksOneTwo. It wasn’t planned, but it makes a lot of sense. Kanye West and Adidas are a match made in heaven. Together, they’ve produced some of the best footwear of the last few years, and every new release throws the sneaker and fashion world into a frenzy. The shoes aren’t just shoes anymore…they’re cultural landmarks. So today, we’re taking these cultural landmarks and ranking them What takes the #1 spot? You’ll just have to read on and find out for yourself.read more
You’ve heard the news already. Kanye West and Adidas have got the Internet goin’ nuts (word to Paul Wall) with yesterday’s announcement of an extended, long-term partnership. Kanye will be receiving the opportunity he’s always dreamed of (and ranted about), as Adidas will assist in the creation of full lines of sneakers, apparel, accessories, and other gear (he’ll even have input on performance designs, which is unheard of for a non-athlete)…and if all that’s not enough, Adidas is even giving him his own specialty retail stores to sell the gear.read more
We reached 800 posts here on KicksOneTwo last week. That’s a lot of content. We’ve been working to ensure that there’s something new and fresh up every single day at 8AM for over two years, and we won’t be stopping any time soon. To all of you reading this: thank you so much. Your support is what drives us daily, and we promise we’ll keep the articles coming.
Pardon the gushing. We’re just very thankful. We write daily here…but we also take photos. You need pictures to go with your words when you’re covering an event, or nobody will be able to see what’s going on! Since we reached 800 posts, I figured it would be only right for me to dig through the KicksOneTwo vaults and grab my eight favorite event photos. There’s some from a few weeks ago (ITS Fest) and some from a few years ago (TCSAX III, the first event we ever covered). But they’re all here, in one place, each with a brief backstory, starting from the oldest picture and ending with the newest. Without further ado…let’s get right to the photos.read more
We’re waxing poetic and being nostalgic today. We’re looking back on the past fondly. We’re talking about our favorite Nike Basketball shoe ever (yeah, that’s right!) today. We’re talking about the Nike Hyperdunk.
Introduced at the 2008 Olympics, and proudly sported by Kobe Bryant, the Hyperdunk was originally available in a white/red/blue (for the Olympics of course) and an all-black colorway…and it was a game-changer. One of the earliest shoes to use Flywire, the original Hyperdunk was incredibly light, surprisingly supportive, and excellently cushioned. It was ahead of its time from a performance standpoint…and still stacks up against many of today’s basketball shoes. But like any great shoe, it was more than just the performance that made it so legendary.read more
Everyone loved going to the arcade as a kid. Play games, win tickets, get cool stuff with tickets. Bring up any arcade game to a 90’s or 80’s baby, and they’ll likely wax poetic about all the dope stuff they did at the arcade back in the day.
Thankfully in 2016, there’s a grown-up version of a classic arcade game that appeals to the kid in all of us. There’s a good chance that as a young whippersnapper (been waiting to use “whippersnapper” in an article for a while TBH), you played a variation of the Key Master game. In the event you didn’t, here’s a quick rundown: you try to perfectly position a key to fit through a hole so it can knock down a prize that’s usually very valuable. Your chances of winning were low…but the hope you’d nail it kept you coming back.read more
Supreme vs. Bape. A clash of titans. The longest-running debate in streetwear. A question with no true answer (if you’re wondering though, we’re partial to Supreme). The two biggest brands in our culture each have their devoted fans who swear nothing’s better…and recently, one of those fans has been making some serious waves on the Internet.
See this guy in the video above? He goes by “Ape”, and has been on quite a roll for the past week, terrorizing Supreme stans all over New York City, filming himself throwing clothes in the Supreme store (even filming yourself in there is pretty impressive, as it’s not allowed), and even messing with Jonah Hill.read more
You read the title right. It’s a (very) Special Cloth Alert. Our good friends over at NSOD (Never Stop On Dreams) Clothing just released a new polo shirt that’s available now on their webstore.
Featuring a pigment dye for a vintage vibe, bold NSOD graphics across the chest, a “Masked Dreamer” logo on the left breast, a large “0” on the back and detailing on the cuffs, it’s a clean and elegant piece that you can slide effortlessly into your summer wardrobe. Need something more dressy than a T-shirt? Feel like switching your steez up a touch? Need to show everyone that you’re really out here? Want to remind yourself to never stop on your dreams? Then this is the piece for you.read more
The Adidas Ultra Boost: one of the most comfortable shoes you’ll ever wear. The plush Boost cushioning and the foot-hugging Primeknit upper combine to make you feel like you’re walking on clouds. Nothing else compares.
And they’re not just comfy. They’re dope too. Cosigned by everyone from Kanye West to Lawrence Schlossman (much respect to the Four Pins and Grailed gawd), the Ultra Boost looks great both with denim and shorts. But that’s not all: it can even be customized. That’s right, forwards-thinking sneaker heads have started “uncaging”, or cutting the plastic 3 stripes design off of the shoes.read more
Summertime is fully upon us. It’s hot. It’s humid (we are in Minnesota after all). Your winter wardrobe is firmly tucked away in the corner of your closet, and you’re getting all your summer jawns ready to go.
Figuring out your summer wardrobe can be tough. Sometimes you don’t have enough. Sometimes you don’t like what you have left over from last year. Sometimes you just flat-out want some new stuff to rock in the warmer months.

Tired of wearing nasty, crusty socks? Buy two, get one free on all the socks in the store.read more
Retail. A thankless profession with sporadic hours, low pay, and high stress. A profession that requires you to work on holidays. A profession that requires you to…well, you get the point.
Retail’s a tough job, especially when you’re selling kicks. No matter how much you may love sneakers and the sneaker game/culture as a whole, there are things about the job that even the most hardened sneaker store veteran can’t stand…and one of those things is being asked stupid questions. Here at KicksOneTwo, we understand those stupid questions. We’ve been asked those stupid questions. We know some of our readers work in shoe stores and have heard those stupid questions first-hand as well. So for the sake of a laugh and a knowing nod of the head, we’ve compiled the 5 worst questions you’ll be asked at a sneaker store. Let’s get to it.read more
It’s been a little over a month since the last edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings, so it’s high time I checked back in with ya’ll and shared my unfiltered thoughts on what went down in sneakers the past week. Both Adidas and Jordan had things booming (and Reebok made some noise too), so without further ado…we’ll jump right into it. Let’s begin the 11th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings.
Adidas continued their roll with the release of the AlphaBOUNCE, which flew off of shelves, both IRL and on the web as soon as it released on Wednesday…and Kanye hasn’t even worn it yet. Adidas’s roll seems to be going just as strong as ever. They’re hot right now, and they’re giving the people what they want while continuing to innovate. Props to them. Personally, I really like these. We’ll see what the other color ways are all about, but these have an almost fish-like look to them (do they look like scales to anyone else?), which is supremely wavy.read more
Canada. The land of hockey, Tim Horton’s, Aubrey Graham “Eh”, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. However, Canada’s got more to offer than pucks, coffee and pastries, pop-rap, and funny sayings…they’ve also got some of the most fire clothing you’ll find anywhere in the world. From Naked and Famous’s world-class denim, to Canada Goose’s warm, puffy jackets, to Herschel Supply Co’s bags that you see on every street corner to OVO’s owl-branded tees and hoodies, Canada has a solid foothold in the fashion game. Those are four heavy hitters that everyone knows about…but they’re not all Canada has to offer. Here’s a few of our favorite Canadian brands you may not have heard of, and a little bit of knowledge about them.read more
Summer. A time for style adaptation. It’s hot (and sometimes humid) out, and you don’t have access to your full wardrobe like you might in the colder months. But guess what? This is a good thing. It gives you an opportunity to take risks and try new things with your style…and one thing that you should try this summer is rocking some dope sandals.
We’re not talking about Birkenstocks (that’s too easy and too many hipsters wear them anyway), and we’re not talking about thong sandals (there’s really never any excuse for wearing a pair of thong sandals), we’re talking about dope slides and strap sandals, from the very cheap to the extremely expensive. Without further ado, here’s the 5 best sandals for this summer.read more
When it comes to designers nowadays, there’s nobody hotter than Gosha Rubchinskiy. His signature graphics, like his “Flag” tee and his “CNOPT” sweater are recognizable from a mile away, and with cosigns from style icons like the A$AP Mob, Gosha’s not going to be going anywhere any time soon.
Yesterday, the premier of his S/S ’17 line hit the web, and as you might have expected, everyone went nuts. His signature aesthetic was clear in his pieces, and it looked to be another successful season’s work. But that wasn’t all.read more
There’s nothing sneaker heads, hypebeasts, and collectors all over the world love more than a good collab. When two brands come together to create a dope product everyone gets excited…even more so when it’s two of the hottest brands out, like Adidas and Bape.
If you haven’t already heard the rumors swirling around on the web, Adidas and Bape are supposedly linking up for a collaborative NMD Runner (arguably the hottest shoe out right now), and a line of co-branded apparel. It’s mostly speculation at this point, but SneakerBarDetroit has gotten their hands on what they claim are “leaked images” of the shoeread more
Steph Curry. The NBA’s man of the moment. The back-to-back MVP and soon to be back-to-back NBA Finals champion (come on now, we all know the Cavs aren’t coming back, as much as we may want them to) is by far the most popular basketball player in the world right now. He’s so popular that he even managed to make Under Armor relevant in the basketball world with his signature shoes, the Curry 1 and 2. But even the great Steph Curry is not immune to the occasional brick, and he teamed with Under Armor to toss a resounding one recently, with the release of the “Chef Curry” Curry 2 Lows, pictured above.read more
