Sneakers and fashion go hand-in hand. You can’t have a dope outfit without a fresh pair of kicks on feet. Most of us sneakerheads dress from the toes up, and there’s nothing at all wrong with that.
However, some people in the sneaker game are guilty of not caring about fashion as much as they should. I’m not here to say that if you’re into sneakers, you also have to be a fashionista who’s up to date on the latest Hood By Air collection, or know the difference between Naked and Famous and APC’s different cuts of denim.
However, you do owe it to yourself and your dope pair of kicks to make sure you have at least a semi-respectable outfit on. There’s no reason to be wearing oversized t-shirts, jean shorts, or the dreaded NikeTalk denim (for those of you who aren’t in the know, NikeTalk denim is when you’re rocking pants that are way too baggy and they swallow up the whole top half of your shoe).
It’s so easy to get pretty dope clothes at low prices today. Ever been to Karmaloop or Moose Limited? They’ve got all kinds of serviceable brands on there. On a budget? You can usually find some decent stuff on PLNDR as well. If you’re feeling good and want to try to get into stuff that’s a little more on the pricy side, you can even look at RSVP Gallery or VFiles.
Once again, I’m not saying that you have to be big into fashion if you’re into sneakers. I’m just saying that you should at least make an effort to get your fit right from head to toes. Do your kicks justice, and don’t ruin them with a horrible outfit. You’ll thank yourself for it!
