By now, you’ve probably heard about Supreme‘s Fall/Winter 2014 drop. You’ve maybe even seen the photo galleries of the apparel, accessories, and headwear over on Hypebeast.
In the fast-moving world of streetwear, it’s already somewhat old news even though the picture galleries just arrived a few days ago. So why did I wait to write my thoughts on it, you ask? It’s pretty simple: I needed a little time to fully digest how dope the collection is.
I feel like I find myself saying this ever time Supreme releases a lookbook for their upcoming collection, but they really killed it on this one. Most of the offerings are on point, and the select few that aren’t quite as dope are still pretty solid, just not very original.
Here at KicksOneTwo, we love the Loud original series Detroit Rubber. Getting a behind the scenes look at what the folks over at the legendary Burn Rubber sneaker shop are doing is always enjoyable. It’s interesting to see what goes on day-to-day at a famous sneaker shop, and the first episode of the second season focuses on the Burn Rubber boys working with members of the University of Michigan’s Fab 5 freshmen. Check out the video below, and enjoy!
For this edition of Music Mondays we bring you a track by G-Eazy and French Montana. Here’s “Say”.
Trends. Can’t live with em’, can’t live without em’. They affect what we rock on a daily basis far more than we’d like to admit, and Nike is usually at the forefront.
Much like any other industry, trends in the sneaker industry come and go. Remember the LeBron 9 Elite “South Beach”? I’m sure you do.
When that shoe popped off the way it did and created such a huge response, Nike wisely jumped all over it and started pumping out kicks with a similar color scheme left and right. The hype was very real for a while, but as hype does, it began to die down. When the “South Beach” Lebron 11 dropped this year, there was little to no reaction from the sneaker community, whom for the most part seemed to be tired of the color scheme.
With tomorrow being the release date for the KD VII “Calm Before The Storm”, the KicksOneTwo staff figured we’d give you an early look. With a slightly more muted look than the last two colorways (35,000 Degrees and Global Games), these may just be a sleeper hit. Check the pics below, and let us know if you’re planning to cop!
Need some new gear for school this year? Just feeling a hankering for some new stuff? Yesterday, Complex uploaded a humorous video in which various women from Vashtie to Emily Oberg with knowledge of sneakers and sneaker culture shared their opinions on sneaker-obsessed guys. It’s a fairly hilarious video, and if you haven’t seen it, you’re cheating yourself out of a laugh or two. Check it out here!
