If you’re reading this, it’s too late. Or maybe it’s not, if you’re one of the lucky few.
Yes, the “Beach” Just Don II’s dropped today, and only a lucky few were able to secure a pair. It’s a rare and premium shoe, and with that premium quality comes a premium price tag, $650 to be exact (although that price does include a hat with a premium leather brim). That’s what we’ll be talking about today. Is the Just Don II really worth it?
If you’re looking to flip, the answer is of course yes. You can easily get over 1K for the first all-blue release, and if early indications are accurate, this release won’t be any different. Great. But let’s look at it from the perspective of someone who’s copping to rock (they are out there, believe it or not).
For your $650, you are getting a premium sneaker. Only the finest quilted leather is used, and it’ll break in wonderfully over time. The nice thing about fine leather is that the more you use it, the better it’ll fit and the softer it’ll get. These could fit you better in two years than they do now, assuming you actually rock them. Same with the hat. Any hat with a leather component will mold to your head better than a plain hat will.
And apart from the amazing quality, let’s be honest here: they’re dope. There’s a reason they were #1 on our “Top 5 Sneaker Releases This Weekend” list yesterday. They’re everything a sneaker should be in 2016: simple yet complex, clean yet flashy. Excellent.
So yes, the Just Don II is very much worth the price tag. You’re paying for a high-end designer sneaker (and hat), and you’re receiving it. If you’re complaining about the price, then you’re not really about that Just Don life. Anyone who knows Don C knows that his products come at a premium price. Can’t afford it/don’t want to pay for it? That’s fine, but don’t knock it. It’s dope and you know it is….if you’re mad, that’s probably why.
