The Three Best Items From The Palace x Adidas S/S 16 Drop

PALACE_ADIDAS_SUMMER16-copy

It’s almost that time again. Two of the hottest brands in the world, Adidas and Palace have linked up for another season of collaborative goodness. The first images of their S/S 2016 collection hit the Internet earlier this week, and they couldn’t have come at a better time, with summer right around the corner, and a break in Adidas’s Yeezy releases. There’s a lot of fire pieces in the collection, but after careful deliberation we were able to narrow it down to our three favorites. Let’s stop talking and get right to the jawnz. read more

The Jordan I Low “Swooshless” Is A Must-Cop

jordan-1-low-swooshless-8

We’re pretty damn particular about our Jordans here at KicksOneTwo. We know what we like and what we want from Jordan Brand, and we generally stick to it. However, something occasionally comes along that just blows us out of the water (like the Futures did 2 years ago), and we’ll rock with it heavy.

Well, one of those releases is dropping this weekend: the Jordan I Low “Swooshless”. Available in  black, “trooper” (olive green), and “arctic orange” (pink), all three colors of the Swooshless are simple, clean, and high-quality. The branding is minimal, with a small Nike Air on the tongue and the classic winged ball logo on the heel, the leather quality is high (we had a chance to check them out in person and they feel great), and the laces have gold tips for a little extra touch. read more

If A Hyped Shoe Wasn’t A Hyped Shoe

yeezy-750-brown-release-date

Sneakerheads love a heated discussion. Whether it’s about which retro is better, who the biggest influencer in sneakers is right now, or what shoe has the best quality materials, they have their opinions and will defend them to death. There’s a lot of room for interpretation and opinions in the sneaker game, and that’s what makes it such a fun hobby, as there’s always something to talk about.

However, there’s one argument sneakerheads love to have that’s just flat-out pointless, and it begins with something like this: “If (insert hyped shoe here) wasn’t associated with (insert celeb or influencer here), then nobody would care about it!” If you’ve ever said that, we’ve got one question for you: So what?? read more

Anti Social Social Club: A Club Worth Joining?

Anti-Social-Social-Club

In today’s Internet age, new brands are very polarizing. They appear out of nowhere, and with the right backing and co-signs can become wildly popular in a matter of days. Most of these brands seem to be somewhat of a flash in the pan, but one that appears to have some staying power is Anti Social Social Club, founded by Neek Lurk of Stussy. With celebrity co-signs from Kanye West to Keith Ape, and releases that sell out almost instantly, they’ve become somewhat of a force…but opinions on them are widely divided. read more

Nike SB: What Happened?

video_image-253538

Nike SB. If you were into sneakers in the mid to late 00’s, you at least had a few pair in your collection…well let’s be honest here, your collection was probably mostly comprised of SB Dunk Lows and Highs, with a couple P-Rods thrown in for good measure. Nobody was better at coming up with interesting concepts and dropping limited releases than the folks at Nike SB.

But now things are different. Nike SB’s sit on shelves. Apart from the core SB fans, sneakerheads don’t get excited about the releases anymore. You can even find them at outlets. Go into your local Nike outlet or factory store right now, and you’ll probably see a full run of De La Soul SB Dunk Lows sitting on the shelves. How could something like this happen? How could the coolest brand out turn into a denizen of sale shelves and outlets? read more

Sunday Sneaker Ramblings Vol. X

10 Deep (word to Scott Sasso).

We’re back again with the 10th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings…and it’s been a while, as the last one was all the way back in February. If you’re new to the site, here’s a quick background: I share my unfiltered thoughts on everything that went down in sneakers the past week. That’s it. Plain and simple. Now that the background’s out of the way, let’s get right to it. Round 10 begins now.

Let’s go ahead and start things off with the Yeezys, as everyone’s hyped to hear some news on the Kanye front. A June 11th release date has been announced for the next color of the wildly popular Yeezy Boost 350’s, and this time it’s going to be a “beluga” colorway (probably the first time a lot of sneakerheads have heard that word). If these rumors, which seem solid, are indeed true, we’ll have a white 350 to rock this summer. Prepare yourself for the Yeezy madness. We’ve had a nice break, but it’s about to envelop everything once again. read more

Tan Kicks Are In Right Now

j9zgihry7jwvnnpir5vu

Trends come, and trends go. Some, you miss. Others, you catch. It’s the name of the game, and there’s always something new and dope right around the corner.

What’s in currently? Tan kicks. Yes, tan kicks. A color you though you’d only see on dress shoes has made its way into mainstream sneaker culture, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. The most obvious example is the Oxford Tan Yeezy 350 boosts pictured at the top of the article, but that’s not even close to everything. Vachetta Tan Jordan I’s. NikeLab tan Air Flight 89’s. NikeLab Vachetta Tan Air Force 1 Mids. Tan Common Projects Achillies Lows. Tan/white Filling Pieces low tops. Any Hender Scheme. read more

When Is A Sneaker’s Box Price Too High?

Just-Don-x-Air-Jordan-2-Beach-2-2-622x370

There’s no denying it, sneakers are a very expensive hobby. Even a pair of kicks every other month is a budget-stretcher for some sneakerheads, and as kicks continue to get more and more expensive, there’s a simple question that’s just begging to be asked: When is a sneaker’s box price just too damn high?

This is a difficult question, and one with no solid answer. Shoes used to be somewhat reasonably priced. Remember when you could get a solid pair for under $70? Remember the 2 for $90 deal at Champs (still the best deal in the history of sneakers if you ask us)? Well, those days are long gone. So you’ve got to ask yourself: where are you going to draw the line? Will it be at $190 for a Jordan? Will it be at $230 for a pair of American-made New Balance? Will it be at $500 for a designer shoe, like a Balenciaga? Will it be at $650 for a pair of Just Dons? Mind you, we’re not talking resell prices here. We’re talking about what you’re willing to pay for a new pair of shoes from a retail location or website. read more
