RSVP Gallery and Anti Social Social Club: two entities with great success and vastly different aesthetics. RSVP Gallery is one of the best-known retailers in the fashion world, stocking everything from Off-White to Bape to Stone Island. Anti Social Social Club is a brand greatly loved by the Internet, and known for their clever graphics and themes of social awkwardness and paranoia.
They’re not two brands you’d think would come together for a collab, but they have, and it’s interesting to say the least. Inspired by the Mercedes G-Wagon, they dropped an intro video last week, which you can check out below.
Strange, right? Not even a passing glance of the clothes. That’s kind of how Anti Social Social Club works though. They do things that don’t make a lot of sense … but work. The video focuses more on what inspired the collab (the G Wagon) than the actual collab itself, which consists of a co-branded tee, hat, and hoodie.
We’re generally Anti Social Social Club supporters, and have always enjoyed RSVP Gallery’s signature neon green colorway, but let’s be frank: this collab could have been much better. The G Wagon looks like it’s a clip art piece, and we’d bet there wasn’t a whole hell of a lot of thought that went into this collab.
However, that’s Anti Social Social Club’s thing. If you don’t understand their product, maybe it wasn’t meant for you and you shouldn’t be a part of their club. If you like any of these pieces, they’ll be available in downtown LA (and hopefully online) January 27th.
What do you think of the RSVP Gallery and Anti Social Social Club collab? Do you like it, or is it a little too undercooked on the design front for your tastes?
