Air Max frenzy is still just as real as it was in February and March. Air Max Day is almost a month behind us already, but the hype for Nike’s most famous technology hasn’t died down one bit yet as evidenced by the hype behind the Silver Bullet 97’s and other Nike Sportswear releases.
One Air Max that’s always been somewhat of a cult favorite (especially with the roadman set) is the Air Max Plus. The slightly goofy yet somewhat futuristic design has always had a following, and has usually been released in loud and crazy or simple monochromatic colorways.
But it’s grown up. We were thrilled to see that NikeLab will be releasing 4 different pairs (all pictured above), done up with tech-mesh bases and full-grain overlays, plus the Air Max Plus’s signature faded detailing to boot.
The grown-up, toned-down colorways are about as wearable as it gets, and as much as we’ve loved the crazy colorways in the past, you’ve got to have something that you can just throw on and go sometimes … and NikeLab has given us just that with this release.
They’ll be hitting shelves April 25th (that’s this upcoming Tuesday if you’re not the best with dates … we’re not either as we rarely get second ones), and will be available at NikeLab stockists as well as NDC. Grab a pair and grow up with your favorite Air Maxes.
What do you think about these four toned-down, grown-up Air Max Plus? Are you a fan of the new colorways, or do you prefer the crazy original colors?
